Workshop List is Here!

A draft of the workshop list is at the Great Escape website.  There are still some kinks still to be worked out, but start making your list so that you'll be ready to register!  Some favorites are back, such as chocolate truffles, swimming, basket weaving and painting.
We have some new crafts - including story stones and stick knitting.  Tech skills are covered by Geocaching and smartphone photography.  It's a long list, so take a gander!

More Congratulations

At the GSEM recognition luncheon, another of our Great Escape Committee members was honored with the GSUSA Thanks Badge.
It's a pretty thing, and here's the lovely recipient with her terrific (also GS!) daughters at Great Escape.
Congratulations, Sue!

We will miss all three of you and Rose too, at the event this year, but we will be with you in spirit as you celebrate the union of your families.

Sneak Peek!

Although registration isn't quite open (any day now!) here's a sneak peek at what's in store for us this year.

WORKSHOPS! - we have 38 workshops on the roster this year - everyone will be able to find something to do (or not- there's always the free time option.)

PRODUCTS!  If you regretted not buying one of our GE fleece vests/jackets, remember that when you see the terrific new clothing options for this year. As soon as pre-ordering is available, I'll let you know.  And we still have a very few mugs, bags, and blankets for sale at the event.

BOOK CLUB!  A just for fun option this year - A MAN CALLED OVE by Fredrik Backman.

FOOD!  I don't know what the crew has in store, but you know it will be yummy!

Congratulations!

Our dear friend  and Great Escape committee member Wynelle was honored by Girl Scouts, Eastern Massachusetts on Saturday.  She received her 50 year membership pin, and a 20 year sustained service award (which means that it's been over 20 years since she received her last award!)
Wynelle is a one-woman sunshine committee, always doing something nice for others!  Thank you and congratulations.  If you see Wynelle around Council (and you are sure to, because she does a lot!) say hi and introduce yourself.

Spring is Late This Year....

Here in the Northeast we have been having a rainy, cold spring.  Our town encampment was this weekend in floods of rain, although we did have two clear hours on Saturday afternoon so that the girls were able to take to the woods where they found some victims with gruesome injuries.  The girls did a great job using their newly acquired first aid skills to help them!
So spring is late, and Great Escape Registration is late.  But we're working on it!  In the meantime, remember to seek out "A Man Called Ove."  It's a quick read and an uplifting one.
