Here's a little work in progress - a new putz house. I haven't decided yet on the roofing material so it looks a bit stark. Still I am pretty happy because I painted it with my home-made chalky paint and I like the texture that gives to the walls.
As you can see from the next photo, it's twice the size of the last one I made, almost 6 inches wide. It's a dull rainy Sunday, so excuse the photo quality - the houses look much better in person!
I have more decisions to make - should I put it on a base? What will I use for trees? How will I illuminate it so the light shines out of the windows and doors (a light through the back or the bottom?) Decisions, decisions. I'll have the process all worked out by Great Escape, though! If you want to make a house of your own, register for the weekend and the workshop at the Great Escape website....

Registration Record!
May isn't over yet, but Great Escape 2015 is about 1/3 full, and registrations are coming in faster than ever before. One workshop, arm knitting, is already full. Since most people take four workshops (some doughty souls do five!) they fill up quickly. Take a look at the workshop page and then register and make your choices!
And don't forget to take a look at the book club selection for this year!

Do You Like to Doodle?
Do
you like to doodle? Learn tangleing with Lesley. Her workshop participants last year produced some gorgeous work, and this year will be no different - we even found her a stash of vintage buttons to use!
A tangle has no pre-planning with pencil guidelines, grids or dots, no erased lines. It’s just pure magic . . . one pen stroke at a time. It is a mindful, easy to learn art form, using repetitive patterns to create beautiful images. It encourages relaxation, focus and feelings of well being. In this workshop, you will make lovely cards to give to friends and family. No drawing experience necessary.
