True Story

Three women walk into a hotel bar, all dressed up.  After ordering, one says, "I read a great book, have you read it yet?  It's 'A Man Called Ove.'"  The second says, "I did, it was great."  The third says, "As a matter of fact, it's our Great Escape Book Club book for this year!"
Two of my sisters and I attended our niece's wedding last weekend, and we all agreed that this year's book club book is a good one, so make tracks to your local library or bookstore!  Can't believe that GE is only 24 days away!

  1. Sort of a dreary day today...great day to curl up with a good book...download "A Man Called Ove," and spend quality time understanding why it was chosen as the Great Escape "Book Club" read this year. More than 20 campers have signed up to discuss the tale. If you've never joined a book club and would like to get a taste, join Julie Sibert who will lead the group.

Another random thought comes of the best Committee ever who has been the backbone of GE's success for the past 12 years. We not only take whatever weather conditions come our way on that weekend, but we prepare for it and always make the best of it. Outdoor activities mostly have a foul-weather backup, although I'm not quite sure where "Hatchet Throwing" will find indoor space! :( On a brighter note, we are gearing up (again!) for a fabulous time with new friends and old. I especially look forward to the ride home when Pat & I can take a deep breath and recall the details of the touching (and sometimes very funny) moments throughout the weekend where Girl Scouts were connecting. We've filled the event again this year, a feat never even dreamed of 12 years ago... A whopping big 'thank you' to all who have helped make this dream a reality. 'Love you.
