Here are the last pictures I have of Mel, taking down the flag at GE 2014, at Camp Wabasso, which she greatly loved and where she spent happy summers in her youth. Mel also led workshops at GE, including her Mad Hatter's Tea Party on the edible plants, fungi and other natural foods to be found in the Wabasso woods and on the lake shore.
She also led us in our opening "Simple Dance."
'Tis a gift to be simple,
'Tis a gift to be free,
'Tis a gift to come down
Where we ought to be.
And when we find ourselves
in the place just right,
'Twill be in the valley of
love and delight.
Always one for leading or participating in a song, dance or skit, was Mel, and a good sport too!
Our thoughts and prayers go out to her family, her husband, daughter and two sons. We will miss her.
