Day 2: Kristin Carlson Asselin

Author Kristen Carlson Asselin, a Girl Scout troop volunteer, worked with the girls on communicating effectively in their writing.  For example, changing "Lauren walked into the room."  to "A jaunty straw pork pie perched on her blonde curls, Lauren bounced across the front of the classroom."  Just a few more words, but so much more information.

She also clued the girls in on the nuts and bolts of getting published - finding an agent and a publisher and all that information that we so often neglect to mention when we urge girls to write!
